He who stops becoming better stops remaining good.

Is my understanding of the following correct?

My friend Prof. K. K. Garg has told me that there is also 'Corruption Money' and 'Greed Money' which is different from 'Black Money'. What I have understood of all 'Moneys' is as under:

White Money : Comes from the income which I have declared to the Govt. for the payment of income tax irrespective of the source of income pious or otherwise. I might have earned it in a most dubious manner.

Black Money :  Comes from the income which I have NOT declared to the Govt. for the payment of income tax even if the source of income may be pious. For example if I am a Govt. servant but doing some part time job or business through sheer hard work but it is not in the knowledge of the Govt. The income generated from this part time job is 'Black Money'.


Corruption Money : Irrespective of the fact whether or not I declare and pay income tax on it it would be 'Corruption Money' if the source is not pious. Far example I might have earned it through theft, extortion or bribe, etc.

Greed Money :  Irrespective of the fact whether or not I declare and pay income tax on it it would be 'Greed Money ' if it is not a hard earned money (the source may not be dubious). Far example I might have earned it by investing in a chit fund company.

Would somebody enlighten me as to whether my understanding is correct or no?

That is, it is a case of disjoint sets when all the components of somebody's speech are unrelated, not cohesive and don't make sense to you. Or so to say that ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਿਰ ਪੈਰ ਨਾਂ ਹੋਵੇ. Then you may be at peace by reading the lines below:

ਕੁਝ ਗਲ. ਵਿਚ ਗਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੌਕ ਵੀ ਸੀ 

ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਾਲਿਮ ਸਨ 

ਕੁਝ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੌਕ ਵੀ ਸੀ

Self Composed Punjabi Poem

Background of the poem:

Once I went to pay a courtesy call to one of my senior colleagues at his house. When he opened the outer gate the first thing he asked me was, "ਸੁਮਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਿੱਦਾਂ ਆਏ?" I told him that I have just come to pay a courtesy call. He took me inside, offered tea and snacks to me and then mid-way he again repeated, "ਸੁਮਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਿੱਦਾਂ ਆਏ?" I repeated what I said earleir but this time I felt quite embarassed and thought for a while that may be I should have come with some purpose. And finally when he came to see me off on the outer gate  he agian said, "ਸੁਮਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਕਿੱਦਾਂ ਆਏ?" I just gave a broad smile and left. But that night a thought crossed my mind that we visit someone if only we need him and so does he. If I don't need someone may be I need not visit him whatsoever; because now we believe that someone would visit us only for a purpose and certainly not otherwise. That is, our relationships are no longer based on emotional bonding but are only ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ oriented. And that is wherefrom the poem ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ  was born

ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ

ਕਿੰਨਾ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਹੈ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਬਦਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ

ਇੱਕ ਵਕਤ ਸੀ

ਜਦ ਤੇਰੀ  ਯਾਦ  ਤੋਂ  ਹੀ ਵਿਹਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਮਿਲਦੀ

ਫਿਰ ਇੱਕ ਵਕਤ ਆਇਆ

ਜਦੋਂ ਵਿਹਲ ਮਿਲਣਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਯਾਦ ਆਉਣੀ

ਤੇ ਹੁਣ

ਤੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਦੀ ਵਿਹਲ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ

ਕਿਓੰਕੇ ਉਦੋਂ

ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ  ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਲਗਦੀ ਸੀ

ਆਪਣੀ ਯਾਰੀ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਭਾ ਵੇਚ ਗਿਆ

ਓਹ ਵੇਖ

ਇੱਕ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਲਈ

ਇੱਕ ਅਮਲੀ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ

ਇੱਕ ਅਫੀਮ ਦੀ ਗੋਲੀ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ

ਅਜੀਬ ਚੱਕਰ ਹੈ

ਇੱਕ ਸੇਠ ਕਿਸੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਲਈ

ਆਪਣਾ ਖੀਸਾ ਨੋਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਲਿਆ

ਤੇ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਵੀ  ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ  ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਮੰਦ ਜੇਬ ਕਤਰਾ

ਪਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਗਿਆ

ਇਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ ਹੈ........ ਇਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ ਹੈ

ਓਹ ਵੇਖ ਇੱਕ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮ

ਆਪਣੀ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਦੀ ਗਰਜ਼ ਲਈ

ਆਪਣੇ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਦੇ ਘਟੀਆ ਲਤੀਫੇ ਤੇ

ਕਿੰਝ ਬਨਾਵਟੀ ਹਾਸਾ ਹਸ ਰਿਹੈ

ਇਹ ਉਸਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ

ਓਹ ਵੇਖ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ

ਕਿਵੇਂ ਅਖੀਂ ਡਿਠੀ ਇੱਕ ਖਬਰ ਨੂੰ

ਨਾਂ ਛਾਪਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਐ

ਇਹ ਉਸਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ

ਓਹ ਵੇਖ ਇਨਕਲਾਬ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ

ਕਿੰਝ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਸ ਗਈ

ਤੇ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀ ਦਾ ਪੁਟਿਆ

ਹਰ ਕਦਮ  ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਕੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਸ ਗਿਆ

............ਇਹ ਸਭ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ ਹੈ..... ਇਹ ਸਭ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ ਹੈ

ਕਿਤੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ

ਕਿਤੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਤਾਂ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਭੁਖ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ

ਕਿਸੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੀਂਦ ਹੈ

ਪਰ ਸੌਣ ਲਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ

ਤੇ ਕਿਤੇ ਮਖਮਲੀ ਬਿਸਤਰ ਤੇ ਲੇਟੇ  ਨੂੰ

ਸਿਰਫ ਨੀਂਦ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ

ਰੋਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੈਦ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ

ਤੇ ਵੈਦ ਨੂੰ

ਰੋਗੀ ਦੇ ਜੇਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਏ ਪੈਸੇ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ

ਤੇ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਪੈਸਾ ਸਭ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਜ ਹੈ

ਪਰ ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਇਹ ਭੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੈ

ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਓਹ ਭੀ ਲੋਕ

ਕਿਓਂ ?

ਕਿਓੰਕੇ ਖਰੀਦੀ ਜੋ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ

ਓਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਓਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ

ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਭੀਖ ਮੰਗਦੀ ਹੈ

ਕਦੀ ਮਝੀਆਂ ਚਰਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ

ਕਦੀ ਕਚੇ ਤੇ ਤਰਦੀ ਹੈ

ਤੇ ਕਦੀ ਕੰਨ ਪੜਵਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ

ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਕਈ ਯੂਧਿਸਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ

ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਆਪ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ

ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਲਈ ਰੱਬ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਰਕੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ

ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਲ ਖੜਕਾਂਦੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ

ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਭ ਅੰਨੇ ਹੰਨ, ਸਭ ਬੋਲੇ ਹੰਨ

ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਭੀ ਹਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਖਾਂ ਤੇ

ਏਸੇ ਦਾ ਚਸ਼ਮਾ ਹੈ

ਤੇ ਹਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਏਸੇ ਦੇ ਪਰਦੇ ਹੰਨ

ਏਸੇ ਲਈ ਹਰ ਆਦਮੀ

ਆਪਣੇ ਮਤਲਬ ਦੀ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਹੈ

ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਦੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ

ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲਗਦੈ

ਕਿ ਸਿਰਫ ਇਸ ਯੁਗ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਦਾ ਯੁਗ ਕਹਿਕੇ

ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਯੁਗ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਬੇਇਨਸਾਫੀ  ਕਰ ਰਿਹੈਂ

ਕਿਓੰਕੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਤਾਂ ਹਰ ਯੁਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਮਦੀ ਤੇ ਪਲਦੀ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਗੀਤ

ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਲੰਬਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਇ

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਥੇ ਹੀ ਬੰਦ ਕਰਨਾ

ਹੁਣ ਇਸਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ

ਕਿਓਂਕਿ ਸਭ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ ਹੈ

ਹਰ ਯੁਗ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਦਾ ਯੁਗ ਹੈ

ਹਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਦਾ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹੈ

ਹਰ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ

ਇਹ ਸਭ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ ਹੈ

ਇਹ ਸਭ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ ਹੈ ........ਇਹ ਸਭ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤਵਾਦ ਹੈ
